Georgi Gochis — RCST, ICNMT, MLDT, STR, Ph.D candidate –
Georgi graduated from Michigan State University and did post graduate work at both Michigan State University and the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs. She was a school administrator and teacher before training as a therapist in 2000.
Georgi is a Registered Craniosacral Therapist having studied the Osteopathic model at The School of Inner Health. She has been practicing since September of 2003.
She has developed Aquatic Craniosacral Therapy as a result of her research in the Amplification Effects of Craniosacral Therapy in Water. Her research was presented at the National Craniosacral Convention held in Boulder, Colorado 2003. She is an Internationally Certified Neuromuscular Massage Therapist, as well. Under the tutelage of Kathleen Morrow, she has learned Biodynamic Manual Lymphatic Drainage Therapy. In 2009, she became Certified as Somatic Trauma Resolution Therapist by Sharon Porter, Director of Life Wave Institute. She is also Colorado State Board of Education Secondary Education Certified.
Georgi has been the Team Massage Therapist for the Sky Sox Baseball Team of Colorado Springs from 2004-2006. She has been on the medical team for three international figure skating competitions held at the World Arena in Colorado Springs caring for Olympic level athletes. She has represented Peak Performance Physical Therapy by being invited to speak to a panel of Air Force Academy doctors, nurses and case managers, on the therapeutic benefits of Craniosacral and Lymphatic Therapies.
Georgi is the owner of Manitou Wellness Center since 2003. She treats 30 to 40 patients a week as part of individual master treatment plans. Craniosacral, Somatic Trauma Resolution and Manual Lymphatic Drainage Therapy are her tools for a variety of patient needs. She also is one of three therapists forming The Woman Health Team, which offers a unique approach to care options for Fibromyalgia, Chronic Fatigue, IBS, and many other female specific health issues.
She is in the training track to become a nationally certified teacher of the Craniosacral Biodynamic Model and also a Somatic Trauma Resolution Instructor. The contributions Georgi provides her students are a strong understanding of the business of insurance billing, ability to provide documentation requirements and the credible reporting of patient progress to doctors and other health care providers. She has developed successful communication processes within the medical model which has placed her in the position of a respected treatment team member.
She is motivated to bring Craniosacral Therapy and Somatic Trauma Resolution to the awareness of the Medical profession as an additional and effective tool to be used with traditional treatment protocols. She works in tandem with the Psychology community moving their clients through breakthroughs and to a return of body awareness resourced and ready to move forward in their psychotherapy.
She has recently attended workshops with Dr. Peter Levine and Dr. Diane Poole-Heller. In September of 2010, she assisted Sharon Porter in her demonstration of Somatic Trauma Resolution before the 2010 National Biodynamic Craniosacral Convention held in Monterey, California.
Georgi is currently pursuing a PhD. in Natural Medicine at Quantum University of Integrative Medicine.
